About the Speaker
Ward Hendriks is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Aluvia Photonics, where he leads the development of advanced photonic integrated circuits (PICs) on the aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) platform. His work includes pioneering rare-earth doped amplifiers that enable compact, high-performance optical gain solutions for next-generation applications.
With over a decade of experience across the full PIC development cycle, from design and simulation to fabrication and manufacturing. Ward brings a deep understanding of integrated optics with a strong focus on fabrication process development. Under his leadership, Aluvia delivers tailored, PIC solutions for industries spanning telecom, sensing, quantum and beyond, with capabilities extending from the UV to the Mid-IR.
