About the Optica Laser Congress

The Optica Laser Congress brings together topical meetings previously organized under the Optica Laser Congress and the Optica High Brightness and Light-Driven Interactions Congress, including the Advanced Solid State Lasers (ASSL) Conference, now in its 41st year. The program convenes an international community of engineers, scientists, junior researchers and graduate students advancing laser science and accelerating the transfer of breakthroughs into practice. Co-locating these topics expands interaction with multidisciplinary groups that share related interests and goals.

The congress features invited and contributed oral presentations, panel discussions, poster sessions and postdeadline papers, plus networking opportunities and special events.

More than 60 years after the first laser demonstration, progress continues to unlock new capabilities and applications. Explore advances in solid state lasers, high-brightness sources, attosecond science, light-driven interactions, compact EUV and X-ray light sources and mid-infrared coherent sources, with emerging applications from materials processing to fusion energy.

  • Learn about advances in laser beam combining, including coherent beam combining
  • Hear about record performance in high-power fiber lasers for welding, cutting, laser shock peening, materials modification, laser-induced damage studies and directed energy
  • Explore advances in remote sensing, including vibrometry, atmospheric composition, wind sensing and high-precision mapping
  • Hear about breakthroughs enabled by high-intensity lasers and high-field phenomena, including ultra-intense radiation–matter interactions
  • Discover emerging capabilities in compact EUV and X-ray light sources and enabling architectures
  • Learn about progress in mid-infrared coherent sources, including new platforms, frequency conversion and MIR-enabled applications
