About the Speaker
Dr. Xavier Lafosse was appointed Commercial Technology Director, Precision Glass Solutions, in April 2017. In this role, he leads commercial technology strategy and innovation road mapping, working closely with customers and industry leaders to identify emerging trends and accelerate growth opportunities for advancing platforms across industries.
Xavier joined Corning in 1995 and has held multiple leadership roles spanning research, technology, and business development across ophthalmic products, photonics, Specialty Materials, and Corning Life Sciences. He previously served as Business Technology Director for Specialty Materials, where he led product and process development initiatives, established critical technical capabilities, and supported the global expansion of Corning® Gorilla® Glass through multiple product introductions.
Lafosse holds a doctorate in materials physics from Paris University and graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Paris. He is the holder of eight U.S. patents.
