About the Speaker
Silvia Schwyn Thöny joined Evatec’s R&D team in 2010. She has a strong background in various thin film deposition technologies, with a focus of process development and applications in the field of optical interference coatings in consumer and precision optics. Recent topics encompass Quantized Nanolaminates, but also the deposition of epitaxial materials used for their electro-optic properties, a topic which she was investigating already in her Ph.D. thesis, which she received from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zürich, Switzerland. As a Principal Scientist she is now in charge of technology scouting and collaborations.
