About the Speaker
Dr. Sunghee Lee is the founder and CEO of CONTEC, a South Korean space technology company established in 2015 as a spin-off from the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), where he spent 16 years as a research engineer. CONTEC provides full vertical-chain solutions spanning ground station engineering and services, satellite imagery processing, and analytics and application services, supported by a global ground station network and subsidiaries including CONTEC Space Optics, which designs and manufactures high-resolution electro-optical cameras.
Since 2024, Dr. Lee has also served as CEO of Asia Pacific Satellite Incorporation (APSI). Under his leadership, CONTEC has raised over $58 million in funding, listed on KOSDAQ in 2023, and expanded its partnerships with leading international space organizations. He advises multiple technical committees under South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and has received recognition including the Prime Minister's Award for Job Creation Contribution and the STAR-Exploration MSIT Minister's Award.
