About the Speaker
Ian Blasch is Senior Director of R&D at Jabil Optics, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in advanced technologies, engineering, and innovation. His background spans aerospace and defense, deep-tech development, corporate venture capital, and entrepreneurship. A former Captain in the United States Air Force, Ian combines military experience with technical expertise and strategic leadership in emerging technologies. Prior to joining Jabil, he founded Micron Technology’s Open Innovation Group and held senior leadership positions at several deep-tech startups.
Ian holds an MBA and an MSE from Stanford University, a BS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Cranfield University, where he studied as a Marshall Scholar.
