About the Speaker
Dr. Frank Lison is a physicist, technology leader, and entrepreneur working at the intersection of photonics, scientific innovation, and business development. He studied physics at Leibniz University Hannover and earned his PhD in physics at the University of Bonn before entering industry at Bayer. In 2002, he joined TOPTICA Photonics as Vice President of Research & Development, helping shape the company’s technological growth. He later served as CEO of TILL Photonics and, after its acquisition by FEI, directed FEI Munich’s global cell and tissue biology business. After several years advising startups and established companies across the photonics industry, Frank returned to the TOPTICA group in 2016 as co-founder and CEO of TOPTICA Projects, developing customized laser and photonics solutions for advanced scientific and industrial applications. Since Oct 2026, he has been CTO and President of TOPTICA Photonics, drawing on more than two decades of experience in laser technology, product innovation, and entrepreneurial leadership to guide the company’s next phase of growth.
