About the Speaker
Dr. Fabrizio Bisesto is a Project Engineering Manager at Leonardo, specializing in advanced laser technologies, optical systems, and their applications in aerospace and space-based systems. His expertise includes high-power fiber lasers, coherent beam combination, laser beam steering, and LiDAR technologies for space situational awareness. Prior to joining Leonardo, he conducted research at the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), focusing on high-intensity laser-matter interactions, plasma acceleration, and advanced optical diagnostics.
His contributions to space-based laser technologies have been recognized through Leonardo Innovation Awards in 2024 and 2025. Fabrizio holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Sapienza University of Rome.
