About the Speaker
Emma Xu is a Business Development Manager at PhotonFirst, a custom photonic integrated circuit (PIC) packaging house focusing on aerospace, defense, and other harsh environment applications. She holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University and was recognized in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Science list in 2023.
With a background spanning the United States and Europe, Emma brings a transatlantic perspective to photonic innovation, industrialization, and collaboration across the aerospace and defense ecosystem. She works with PIC developers, system integrators, and technology partners to address critical packaging challenges, including optical integration, environmental robustness, and scalable manufacturing.
