About the Speaker
Eduardo Margallo Balbás is co-founder and CEO of Ommatidia, a photonics company developing advanced optical measurement systems. He leads the development and commercialization of massively parallel coherent FMCW LiDAR technology for non-contact 3D metrology, vibrometry and sensing. Previously, he co-founded MedLumics and served as its CEO and later COO, combining photonics research with technology development, venture financing and the translation of optical innovations into medical devices. He holds a PhD from Delft University of Technology, where his research focused on optical techniques for the study of living tissue and integrated photonics. He also holds degrees in telecommunications engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, electrical engineering from the University of Stuttgart, and physics from UNED. He earned an Executive MBA from IE Business School and Brown University.
