About the Speaker
Dr. Ben Allison leads IPG Defense Products, the division of IPG Photonics dedicated to developing and fielding high-energy laser systems for military and critical infrastructure protection. Under his leadership, IPG has transitioned from a fiber laser component supplier into a complete directed energy systems provider, most notably through the CROSSBOW product line — a field-ready counter-UAS laser defense system integrated into Lockheed Martin's Sanctum C-UAS architecture and field-proven against over 100 drone targets.
He has overseen the establishment of IPG Defense's dedicated headquarters and manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama, positioning the division to scale production in response to growing demand for laser defense solutions. His work sits at the intersection of IPG Photonics' 35-year fiber laser manufacturing heritage and the operational requirements of modern defense programs, covering counter-UAS, platform integration, and the industrialization of directed energy capability.
