About the Speaker
Ofer Shapiro is CEO and Co-Founder of Quantum Pulse Ventures. He is a serial entrepreneur, investor, mentor and board member in multiple startup companies with breakthrough technology in photonics, AI, and the infrastructure needed to support these industries. He is also CEO and co-founder of Resolight.ai.
Quantum Pulse Ventures has developed a universal directional coupler for photonic quantum computers (PQC) providing up to $900M savings on each computer, reducing the cost to build PQCs by an order of magnitude and advancing the availability of practical quantum computers. Quantum Pulse lowers hardware requirements, reduces run time and improves robustness against imperfections, bringing scalable, commercial delivery of fault tolerant photonic quantum computers to market sooner. By reducing the number of physical qubits required per logical qubit tenfold or accelerating the computer speed by a similar factor, QPV provides builders of PQCs the ability to reduce manufacturing, cooling, and networking requirements and potentially save $900M out of the projected $1B cost per PQC. The company’s patented coupler is available today for licensing to builders of quantum computers to accelerate their current plans.
Ofer has created 12 ventures and delivered 5 disruptive architectures which have been licensed by Google, Cisco, HP, Nintendo, Philips, Ricoh, Hitachi and many others. He is a named inventor on 52 patents.
The World Economic Forum named Ofer a Technology Pioneer and he received the Wall Street Journal Innovation award for economic disruption that transformed the industry in the category of Internet, Networking and Broadband.
