About the Speaker

Jonathan King is Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Atom Computing, a company building neutral-atom quantum computers for scientific and enterprise applications. He leads the company's applications team, responsible for benchmarking quantum systems and developing real-world use cases across fields such as materials science, chemistry, and optimization. Before co-founding Atom Computing, King spent more than a decade researching quantum technologies, including postdoctoral work at the University of California, Berkeley, on experimental and theoretical projects in nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. He holds a PhD in chemical engineering from UC Berkeley and a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Kansas State University, and is a named inventor on two U.S. patents. Under his scientific leadership, Atom Computing has worked to demonstrate practical quantum advantage using neutral-atom architectures, helping position the company among the emerging players translating quantum computing research into commercially deployable systems for industry and research partners worldwide.
