About the Speaker
Andreas Nitze serves as Head of Government Affairs Germany at ASML, where he represents the company's interests to policymakers and government stakeholders on issues affecting the semiconductor and photonics industries. He previously served as CEO of Berliner Glas Group, a leading international supplier of optical components, technical glass, and system solutions for the semiconductor, laser, space, medical, and metrology markets, employing more than 1,600 people worldwide. In July 2020, he led the company through its acquisition by ASML, which gained access to Berliner Glas's optical manufacturing capabilities to support its EUV and DUV lithography systems, while the business continued serving its other markets under continued management. In his current role, Nitze focuses on strengthening dialogue between ASML and German government bodies on topics including semiconductor supply chains, industrial policy, and technology innovation, drawing on his background leading a precision optics and photonics manufacturing business through a major industry transition.
