About the Speaker
Alexey Kovsh is CEO and co-founder of Alfalume, a photonics company developing quantum-dot laser technologies for AI infrastructure and high-speed optical interconnects. A semiconductor innovator, he earned his PhD and Dr.Sci. under Nobel laureate Zhores Alferov. Kovsh previously co-founded Innolume and Optogan, helping commercialize advanced diode lasers and LED technologies. He also held senior technical roles at major U.S. technology companies, including Arista Networks and Masimo. With extensive publications, patents, and industry leadership, he is recognized for translating deep photonics research into scalable commercial products that enable faster, more efficient data communications for cloud computing, silicon photonics, LiDAR, and networking.
