About the Speaker
Valerian Giesz is Co-Founder and CEO of Quandela. He holds PhD in solid-state technologies and quantum optics from the Université Paris-Saclay and a engineering degree from the Institut d'Optique. He participated to the development of efficient source of indistinguishable photons in the group of Prof. Pascale Senellart at the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (C2N). His work was rewarded with two thesis prizes: the EDOM thesis prize of the University of Paris-Sud and the Dim-NanoK thesis prize in the valorization category. Prior to founding Quandela, he trained in entrepreneurship via the HEC Challenge + course. In 2019, he participated in the foundation of the French Tech Paris-Saclay start-up community labelled by the Mission French Tech, which he co-chair up to 2022.
