About the Speaker
Mark Thompson is Co-Founder and Chief Technologist of PsiQuantum, and has over 20 years’ experience in photonic and quantum technologies. He holds PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cambridge and a Master Degree in Physics from the University of Sheffield. Prior to joining PsiQuantum, Mark held positions at Corning, Bookham Technology, Toshiba and PsiQ, and faculty positions at Cambridge University and Bristol University. He established and was Director of the Bristol Quantum Engineering Centre for Doctoral Training (QECDT), the Bristol Quantum Technology Enterprise Center (QuTEC) and The Quantum Engineering Technology Labs (QETlabs), and has been awarded prestigious UK and European fellowships and prizes. Mark has more than 200 publications and patents and has founded two startup companies in the area of quantum technologies.
