The Optica Foundation Names Cara Green Executive Director of Development

Green brings significant expertise and leadership to its fundraising and donor relations efforts.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Optica Foundation today announces its new Executive Director of Development, Cara Green.

Building on more than a decade of fundraising experience, Green will lead fundraising efforts for the Optica Foundation as it launches students and early-career professionals into successful careers. There has never been a greater need – or a greater opportunity – to assist the next generation entering the field of optics and photonics.  The Optica Foundation is dedicated to doing so, and to recognizing and fostering excellence in students and early-career professionals who will be the future change-makers in the field.

“Cara’s expertise in engaging donors and developing partnerships with corporations and foundations will help us to enhance and grow our programs so that the next generation of early-career professionals can receive the essential skills and financial resources they need to address the global challenges that we face,” said Elizabeth Nolan, CEO of Optica.  “Her knowledge and success raising money for the American Geophysical Union and the Pennsylvania State University will enable her to quickly and effectively start connecting with those in our community who are passionate about supporting the Optica Foundation.”

Cara Green noted, “The Optica Foundation supports truly innovative programs that invite students and early-career professionals into our field and gives them the guidance and mentorship they need to succeed.  The community’s support for these programs is truly inspiring.  I’m looking forward to engaging with many different donors and partners to ensure that these critical programs have the support they need for the long term.”
