CLEO 2023 highlights research and applied innovations with six plenary presentations
Plenary presentations by Optica Fellows Andrea Alù, Thomas M. Baer, Shanhui Fan, Alexander Gaeta, Ursula Keller, Christine Silberhorn
San Jose, California — CLEO, the world-renowned conference for laser science and photonics applications, will be presented in person from 07 - 12 May 2023. For over fifty years, CLEO has set the standard as the leading technical conference showcasing top-quality research in all aspects of lasers and photonics. CLEO is co-sponsored by the American Physical Society (APS), IEEE Photonics Society (IEEE-PS), and Optica.
With six days of technical sessions, the conference will feature over 2,000 technical presentations of invited and tutorial speakers and contributed talks. The exhibition will include industry-focused sessions and companies showcasing market-ready technologies in all areas of lasers and photonics. Optica members can connect at networking meetups, honor recent Optica Fellows, and have professional headshots in the Optica booth (359).
“CLEO provides high-quality programming that marries industry and academic research sparking innovation in several critical applications — from biomedical applications to industrial lasers and photonics applications,” CLEO 2023 General Chair Dr. Ilko K. Ilev. “Each year, we select the individuals who bring us closer to the edge of amazing discovery and automation. Drs. Alù, Baer, Fan, Gaeta, Keller and Silberhorn personify these characteristics.”
For the first time, CLEO featured topical workshops ranging from commercial applications for optical frequency combs and universal quantum computing to initiatives to improve diversity in STEM. The CLEO technical program comprised 30 topic categories on fundamental science, science and innovations, and applications and technology.
Industry Leading Companies in Lasers and Electro-Optics
Companies exhibiting at CLEO 2023 will introduce new products and demonstrate new technologies at the industry-leading conference. The CLEO Hub, sponsored by Thorlabs, is your destination for product information, industry and market-based programs and networking.
