About the Speaker

Piotr Masłowski is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Physics, Nicolaus Copernicus University (NCU) in Toruń, Poland. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from NCU in 2008, with a doctoral thesis focused on the spectral line shapes of atomic species.

Throughout his career, Dr. Masłowski has held international research positions, including work on cavity-ringdown spectroscopy at NIST (Gaithersburg) under Joseph Hodges and a two-year tenure in Professor Jun Ye’s group at JILA, University of Colorado Boulder, where he specialized in direct optical frequency comb spectroscopy.

He also contributed to development of the Sr optical lattice atomic clocks at the National Laboratory for Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics in Toruń.

His research expertise encompasses frequency metrology, novel measurement techniques using optical enhancement cavities, and high-precision molecular spectroscopy. Since 2015, he has served as the Scientific Director of the Institute of Physics at NCU. He was also appointed as Program Chair (2021) and General Chair (2023, 2025) of the CLEO®/Europe-EQEC conference.
