About the Speaker
Reza is a silicon photonics engineer and PIC design lead with more than 12 years of experience spanning device simulation, IC tape-out, lab characterization, wafer-level processing, and volume production transfer. Prior to his industry roles, he served as Lecturer, Head of Department, and Director of Education at a School of Engineering.
At McGill University, he led silicon photonics tape-out campaigns focused on modulators, photodiodes, and optical processors, and optical receivers. At the University of British Columbia, he worked on photonic neural networks and in-memory computing research.
Since joining Jabil Ottawa in 2022, he has been leading NPI activities for co-packaged optics and 800G/1.6T pluggable transceiver modules from packaging specification through volume production. Reza has authored 25 peer-reviewed publications.
