About the Speaker
Matt is Distinguished Technical Staff at Lumentum, focusing on advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration for AI infrastructure. His work addresses the transition from pluggable optical solutions to co-packaged optics, exploring how packaging techniques can bring optical engines closer to or within the chip package to reduce energy consumption and increase bandwidth density.
He also works on heterogeneous integration, combining components such as III-V materials and silicon photonics into optimized systems for next-generation photonic architectures. Prior to Lumentum, he was a Technical Program Manager at Intel, where he was responsible for the definition, development, and certification of packaging assembly and test technologies across multiple product generations.
At Intel, he contributed to the development of assembly technologies for small form factor products, dual-die assembly processes, and integrated heat sink assembly across multiple programs.
