About the Speaker
John W. Sheets, Jr., Ph,D. is President and CEO of Pantheon Vision. He earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering and a B.S. in Zoology with a post–baccalaureate in Chemistry from University of Florida. He also completed the Harvard PMD program and the Stanford University Program in Biodesign. Previously, John founded an innovative start-up, EYESIGHT MOBILE, where he served as President of Elisar Health, the innovation arm of Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospitals. John served as Corporate VP of R&D and Chief Technology Officer at Bausch and Lomb. During his tenure at Alcon Laboratories, he was responsible for all surgical implants, instruments and therapeutic (drug) products used in ophthalmic surgery. He was also Global President of Hoya Surgical Optics, and Senior VP, Corporate Research at Boston Scientific, plus he led Johnson & Johnson’s ETHICON R&D as CTO. He also worked at US Food and Drug Administration, where he served as the Director, Office of Device Evaluation, which approves all medical device products in the US.
