About the Speaker
Ted Schmidt has over 20 years of experience in the fiberoptic communications industry, spanning network architecture, DWDM system R&D, and optical transceiver R&D for inter and intra data center interconnect. Dr. Schmidt is currently a Distinguished Engineer in the Aurrion Silicon Photonics group at Juniper Networks. At Juniper Networks he has led both DWDM transceiver development for inter data center interconnect and standards based transceiver development for intra data center interconnect. His interests include high speed optical communications technologies, including advanced modulation formats and photonics integration. Dr. Schmidt has authored over 50 technical articles and two book chapters on his research interests and is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
