Professor Majid Ebrahim-Zadeh named IEEE Fellow in 2026
Radiantis is proud to announce that Professor Majid Ebrahim-Zadeh, a pioneering figure in nonlinear optics and laser technology, has been named an IEEE Fellow in Class of 2026. This prestigious recognition is awarded “for contributions to the advancement of nonlinear frequency conversion and optical parametric oscillator technology.”
The grade of IEEE Fellow is the highest level of membership within the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), recognising individuals with an outstanding record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. Each year, the honour is limited to no more than 0.1% of the total IEEE voting membership, highlighting its exclusivity and global prestige.
Majid has been instrumental in shaping Radiantis since its foundation. He served as President, Director, and Chief Scientist from 2005 to August 2025, guiding the company for over two decades and establishing it as a world leader in nonlinear optics and laser technology. Since June 2025, he has undertaken the role of Chief Technology Officer, providing strategic scientific guidance and driving innovation across the company’s research and development programmes.
“Majid’s leadership, vision, and scientific contributions have been central to Radiantis’ success and reputation as a global innovator in photonics,” said Sara Otero, CEO at Radiantis. “Being named an IEEE Fellow is a testament to his impact on the field and his ongoing dedication to advancing optical science and technology.”
IEEE is the world’s leading professional organisation dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. With over 500,000 members in more than 190 countries, IEEE publishes approximately one third of the world’s technical literature in electrical engineering, computing, and electronics, maintains an active portfolio of over 1,000 standards, and sponsors more than 2,000 conferences annually.
Radiantis congratulates Professor Ebrahim-Zadeh on this remarkable and well-deserved honour and celebrates his continued contributions to the photonics community and the global advancement of laser and nonlinear optical technologies.
