Alcyon Photonics and Taiwan Auto Design Co. Announce Strategic Partnership to Advance Taiwan's Silicon Photonics Ecosystem

The partnership aims to strengthen Taiwan's silicon photonics ecosystem by providing advanced design tools, photonic IP solutions, and technical expertise to support next-generation integrated photonics development.

Madrid (Spain) / Taipei (Taiwan), 12th June 2026

Alcyon Photonics and Taiwan Auto Design Co. (Cadmen) today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at advancing Taiwan's silicon photonics ecosystem. By combining Alcyon's expertise in photonic IP and design solutions with Cadmen's extensive experience in CAE simulation and engineering software distribution, the two companies will work together to accelerate innovation in semiconductors, optical communications, silicon photonics, and advanced packaging applications.

Through this collaboration, the two companies will jointly promote the Luceda IPKISS photonic design platform and Alcyon Photonics’ Photonics IP Library solutions to help Taiwan’s semiconductor, optical communications, silicon photonics, and advanced packaging industries accelerate photonic chip design and product development processes.

Alcyon Photonics will leverage its photonic IP design capabilities, along with Cadmen's strong expertise in EPDA software services and CAE simulation, to build a more comprehensive photonic design ecosystem.

"This partnership marks an important milestone in our commitment to expanding access to advanced photonic design technologies across Asia," said Jimena García-Romeu, CEO of Alcyon Photonics. "By combining Alcyon’s photonic IP expertise with Cadmen’s strong local presence and engineering capabilities, we aim to empower customers to accelerate innovation and bring next-generation silicon photonics products to market faster."

"Photonics is becoming a key enabling technology for the future of semiconductors, AI infrastructure, and high-speed communications," said Johnson Liao, President of CAE Group at Taiwan Auto Design Co. (Cadmen). "Through our collaboration with Alcyon Photonics, we are excited to provide Taiwanese customers with industry-leading photonic design solutions and strengthen the ecosystem needed to support the rapid growth of integrated photonics in the region."

As demand for high-performance optical interconnects, AI infrastructure, and advanced semiconductor technologies continues to grow, silicon photonics is becoming an increasingly important enabler of next-generation systems. Through this partnership, Alcyon Photonics and Cadmen aim to lower barriers to photonic integrated circuit development by providing customers with access to proven design methodologies, advanced simulation capabilities, and industry-leading photonic design tools.

The two companies will also explore opportunities for joint technical workshops, customer training programs, and ecosystem partnerships to foster knowledge sharing and support the growing adoption of photonic technologies in Taiwan. By combining their complementary expertise and local market presence, Alcyon Photonics and Cadmen are committed to helping customers accelerate innovation and bringing new photonic products from concept to commercialization more efficiently.

This collaboration reflects both companies' shared vision of strengthening the photonics value chain and supporting the continued advancement of Taiwan as a global hub for semiconductors and high-tech innovation.
