About the Speaker
Christian holds a bachelor in precision engineering, a master in laser and optical technologies from Ernst Abbe University Jena and a PhD in mechanical engineering from Ilmenau University of Technology for laser processing of optical freeforms in glass. Since then he grew a large network in Photonics and established a laser processing lab, acting as technology consultant in optics industry and sharing word on lasers and freeforms arround the world. He served as development engineer for freeform serial production and as key account manager for OEM high-end optical systems in metrology, broadcasting and space for ZEISS in Jena. Today Christian is global sales and business development manager within Bühler for vacuum technologies like ion beam machining and thin film coating. In this role he brings together smart people to challenge high-end optical production problems and works out attractive solutions for clients in photonics industry. He is member of the advisory board of the European Thin Film Society.
