A short description of the meeting scope, purpose, topics, and target audience: The OPTICA Student Chapter at Physical Research Laboratory, India, has been actively promoting optics-related research and academic exchange since its inception. Over the past decade, it has successfully organized multiple editions of the Student Conference on Optics and Photonics (SCOP), aimed at nurturing student engagement in cutting-edge optics. The Optical Society of India (OSI) has been organizing its Annual Symposium (OSIS) for over four decades. These symposia have become central venues for the Indian optics community to converge, share results, and build collaborations. In a landmark collaboration, SCOPOSIS 2025 will be the first-ever joint edition bringing together students and established researchers in one synergistic platform to highlight the growth and importance of optics and photonics research across India and the world. SCOPOSIS 2025 is jointly organised by the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad, Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad, and Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) and will take place from 8-12 December 2025 at PRL, Ahmedabad, one of India's premier research institutions. Scope and purpose: The central scope of SCOPOSIS 2025 is to provide a vibrant platform for exchange of scientific ideas and technical collaborations among researchers, students, technologists, and industrialists working in the domains of optics and photonics through plenary sessions, invited talks, contributory presentations, industry exhibitions, and spontaneous discussions. The primary purpose of this conference is mentioned in the following: 1. Scientific dissemination: To disseminate the latest research findings and technological outcomes in different domains of optics. 2. Interdisciplinary collaborations and networking: To bring together optics research communities from different areas such as materials science, engineering, computational science, and quantum information. 3. Industry-academia integration: To facilitate interaction between academic researchers and industry professionals, and encourage translational research and prototype developments. 4. Student participation and mentorship: To provide exposure to students and young researchers to the national and international optics research community, and networking opportunities with organizations like Optica and the Optical Society of India. 5. Student leadership: PRL-OPTICA student chapter members are part of the organization of the SCOPOSIS 2025. In fact, one of the members of the chapter is the Chair of SCOPOSIS 2025. This will help PRL-OPTICA student chapter members build a network and get training to develop leadership qualities. 6. Serving the mandate of the global community: In alignment with the global demand towards a quantum-ready infrastructure and photonics-driven technologies for quantum communication, computing, and sensing, SCOPOSIS 2025 will contribute significantly through its quantum lecture sessions and discussion forums among global research communities. With this mandate, SCOPOSIS 2025 aspires to be an innovative platform in India’s optics and photonics ecosystem. Meeting Highlights: The SCOPOSIS sessions are modelled following the successful format of SCOP and OSIS held in the preceding years. The program structure of SCOPOSIS 2025 offers the following: 1. Plenary Lectures will be delivered by distinguished scientists from renowned global institutions. 2. Invited talk sessions from domain experts will provide recent scientific findings and deep insights into different areas of optics and photonics. 3. Through contributed oral and poster presentations, students and early-career researchers will be offered a platform to showcase their original work, receive feedback from experts and build academic networks. 4. Through industry exhibitions by optics companies, start-ups, and instrument manufacturers, the attendees will get opportunities to interact with product developers and explore photonic hardware and software solutions. 5. Tutorial sessions will provide an interactive learning platform to the students and any participants who will be interested—the sessions will introduce them to research tools in different areas of optics and the current state-of-the-art. 6. Social networking sessions will provide an interactive forum for students and young researchers to connect with peers, senior members, and explore international research opportunities. Topics: SCOPOSIS 2025 is structured to cover a broad spectrum of technical themes, reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of optics and photonics research. These include, but are not limited to, the following: S.
