Lighting Applications (FA)
The Lighting Applications Technical Group focuses on applied lighting research conducted to investigate the use of solid-state lighting devices for humans, animals, plants, and the environment. Research topics of interest to this group include indoor and outdoor architectural lighting, adaptive lighting systems (IoT applications), circadian lighting, horticultural lighting, automotive lighting, light pollution, and ecological impacts of light. The primary goal of the technical group is to convert photonics and optics research outcomes to real-life benefits and rigorously assess their contributions from end-user perspective.
