The Information Acquisition, Processing and Display Technical Division is a community of information scientists interested in applications of photonics in digital systems, systems engineers interested in interfaces between analog and digital systems and physical scientists interested in the representation of data in physical form. The division encompasses fundamental information science, analog and digital interfaces, digital analysis of optical data, physical information processing and the physical limits of information. This group emphasizes the application of optical spectroscopy to detection and sensing problems in environmental, atmospheric, combustion, defense, and biomedical fields.
