Things to Do
Arts & Culture
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum opened in 1901 and is a firm favorite with local people and visitors.
It has stunning architecture and a family friendly atmosphere.
Explore their 22 galleries and discover everything from art to animals, Ancient Egypt to Charles Rennie Mackintosh and so much more.
Riverside Museum
Riverside Museum is Glasgow's award-winning transport and technology museum. It is the first purpose-built museum created by Glasgow Life in the 21st century. Located at the junction of the Rivers Kelvin and Clyde, it houses the city’s fabulous transport and technology collections, which have been gathered over the centuries and reflect the important part Glasgow has played in the world through its contributions to heavy industries like shipbuilding, train manufacturing and engineering.
Glasgow's street murals are helping to rejuvenate streets and revitalise buildings and vacant sites that look a bit tired, reincarnating them as beautiful pieces of public street art. The first art work was produced in 2008 and this portfolio of completed works has expanded since.
The murals are also having a major impact on our city centre by creating splashes of color which brighten up lanes and streets. This helps make them more inviting for locals and tourists alike to visit and supports local businesses.
Outdoor Activities
Cycling in Glasgow
There are many ways to get involved in cycling in the city. From attending world-class cycling events, to getting around the city on two wheels.
Pollock Country Park
You could spend an entire day exploring Pollok Country Park, Glasgow's largest green space. It's home to two leading attractions: the Burrell Collection, and Pollok House, as well as Highland cattle, cycle routes, and a fairy trail. Visit The Burrell Collection for guides on how to plan a must-visit day out in a beautiful city park.
Botanic Gardens
The Botanic Gardens offer a peaceful blend of green space, and woodland walks down by the River Kelvin. The Gardens are also home to two glasshouses which house plants from all over the world. In 2025, the Botanic Gardens was presented with the prestigious 'Green Flag Award' for the 15th consecutive year.
