Understanding Ethics in Publishing

02 December 2021

Eastern Time (US & Canada) (UTC -05:00)

The pressures for scientists to publish large numbers of papers in high-impact journals has led to growing concerns about the reliability and accuracy of the scientific literature. Dr. Burns will provide insight on the ethical obligations of all participants in the publishing process, summarizing some of the types of misconduct encountered by journal editors, as well as how these are dealt with to ensure the reliability of the scientific record. Dr. Taylor and Ms. Cohen will share some case studies for participants to discuss in breakout groups.
