Visa and Entry Requirements

Most international delegates need travel authorization before they depart for New Zealand. Please review the requirements below and apply well before your planned travel date.

• Visa-waiver countries: Citizens of visa-waiver countries need a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority, known as an NZeTA. You can request one online or through the official NZeTA app. Please apply at least 72 hours before departure.
• All other countries: You need a Visitor Visa. Processing can take several weeks, so we encourage you to apply as early as possible.
• Australian citizens: You do not need a visa or an NZeTA.

Before you apply: please note

• Your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from New Zealand.
• Most travelers must also pay the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy, which is charged as part of the application.
• Submit applications only through Immigration New Zealand. Third-party websites charge extra service fees for the same application.
