The Optica ImageSense Congress brings together the broad optical imaging and sensing communities to advance the science, technologies and applications that enable us to acquire, measure, process and interpret information about the world.

ImageSense builds on the strong scientific communities established through Optica’s longstanding Imaging and Sensing topical meetings. As these fields increasingly converge—through advances in computation and AI, novel sources and detectors, integrated and flat optics, quantum technologies, new imaging modalities and increasingly complex measurement systems—ImageSense provides a unified forum that strengthens connections across traditional topical boundaries while preserving the breadth and expertise of its established communities.

This consolidated congress addressed all aspects of image acquisition, processing and display and diverse uses of cutting-edge optical sensors:

• Computational and compressive imaging, imaging through scattering media, imaging through turbulence and the application of machine learning to image processing.
• Next-generation imaging methods, such as neuromorphic imaging, as well as applications of imaging technology in augmented and virtual reality systems.
• Imaging at THz and x-ray wavelengths, including the use of metasurfaces for real-world imaging applications. 
• The latest developments in optical sensing and sensors as well as their use in a variety of applications.
• Hot topics addressed included agriphotonics, fiber-based sensing, quantum sensors, THz sensing, sensing solutions in manufacturing and the latest developments in comb spectroscopy, including fiber lasers and mid-IR sources.
