Honoring Halina Rubinsztein-Dunlop
University of Queensland

Submitted by Prof. Ursula J Gibson

I met Halina at a conference, where she boldly laid out an invitation to do a sabbatical with her group. My husband and I enthusiastically accepted. The visit led to several publications, a collaboration that lasted for years, and an appreciation of her talent and personal attributes that continues. The skill and humanity that she showed in leading her research group were inspirational, and her willingness and ability to engage with a broad range of personalities and research topics are outstanding. In addition to sharing her optical physics prowess, she has been a mentor, colleague and advisor through the years.
