A toast to you, Dr. Norihiko Hayazawa! Nori-sensei was my PhD supervisor turned career coach after graduation and has been a friend for more than 10 years. He guided me down the painstaking but rewarding path of near-field scanning optical microscopy (transforming me from NSOM zero to NSOM hero). He also helped me decode Japanese culture (and the Japanese language). His patience, good humor, and constructive criticism has helped me grow as a person and researcher. Maraming salamat po!
