Sejeong Kim

Sejeong Kim is a lecturer (= Assistant Professor) at the University of Melbourne, Australia. She obtained her PhD in Physics from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2014. She was a research fellow at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Her research focuses on exploring light–matter interaction at the nanoscale, particularly using optical/plasmonic cavities. She was selected as one of the 30 Rising Stars by the Optical Society of Korea (OSK) and she is the recipient of the 2022 Kaminow Outstanding Early Career Professional Prize. In 2021, she was elected as Optica’s Nanophotonics Technical Group Leader.

Sejeong is a 2023 Optica Ambassador.
