Fiber Sensing

09 November 2026 10:00 - 11:30

Join us for the Optica Online Industry Meeting on Fiber Sensing, exploring how fiber optic sensing technologies are enabling distributed, real-time monitoring across critical infrastructure and industrial systems. As applications expand across energy, transportation, manufacturing, defense, and environmental monitoring, advances in distributed acoustic sensing (DAS), distributed temperature sensing (DTS), distributed strain sensing, and photonic interrogation systems are transforming fiber sensing from niche applications into essential infrastructure technologies.

This session will bring together fiber sensing companies, infrastructure operators, energy and utility providers, defense and security organizations, and photonics instrumentation developers to discuss the industrial adoption and scaling of fiber optic sensing systems. Attendees will gain insights into structural health monitoring, pipeline and rail monitoring, smart city and transportation infrastructure, harsh-environment sensing, AI-enabled signal interpretation, and the challenges of reliability, calibration, deployment economics, and long-term operational stability in large-scale fiber sensing networks.
