William Vivien, from Bertin Technologies, will present an overview of his experience with lasers in defense applications, and its constraints. He will also discuss how adaptive optics can improve the use of lasers in defense, for instance with counter-drone systems.
Jonas Ohland, Postdoctoral Researcher of Plasma Physics, PHELIX (Germany), will speak about what laser systems do and what they are made for—including laser fusion. He will also discuss how technical challenges have been addressed historically and the role of Adaptive Optics, highlighting the ARTAO proct (Appolon Real Time Adaptive Optics).
