Implementation of Digital Optical Switches and Signal Routers for High-Speed Communication
Hosted By: Optics in Digital Systems Technical Group
30 June 2023 8:30 - 9:30Eastern Time (US & Canada) (UTC - 05:00)
In this webinar hosted by the Optics in Digital Systems Technical Group, Santosh Kumar will discuss the efficient application of the Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI) structure in the building of well-known digital logic gates.
Dr. Kumar will discuss the impact of the different voltages of each electrode on the performance of MZI. It has been found that power transmission is switched in response to variations in electrode voltage. The results are essential for the implementation of optical digital logic gates and reversible gates, as well as for the signal routers. There is a commercial demand of optical gates and signal routers in dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM).
Subject Matter Level: Introductory - Assumes little previous knowledge of the topic
What You Will Learn:
• Role of optical digital switches and routers in DWDM application
• Design constraints of optical digital switches
• Implementation of optical digital switches and routers
