Optica Online Industry Meeting: Photonics-based Quantum Communication

Quantum communication links can span a few meters, from one quantum processor to another, or from earth to satellite and back. These links are crucial for the expansion of quantum computing, as well as for the development of quantum key distribution services and other specialized applications. Photonics is the primary solution for these links, but the applications have different requirements than classical communication links. Today, commercially available quantum memories are just beginning to become available, and quantum repeaters are still in development. This meeting will discuss the ongoing requirements for photonic components for these applications.
