About the GAMA Annual Meeting
The Global Advanced Manufacturing Alliance (GAMA) Annual Meeting brings together the advanced manufacturing community to address one of the central challenges facing photonics today: how to move from specialized solutions to scalable, high-volume, and cost-efficient manufacturing.
As the industry advances toward co-packaged optics and tightly integrated photonic–electronic systems, manufacturing paradigms are shifting. Discrete assembly is giving way to advanced wafer-level packaging, including 2.5D/3D integration, hybrid bonding, wafer-level photonic assembly, ultra-fine-pitch interconnects, and integrated optics. In parallel, semiconductor manufacturing environments are adapting to new materials, processes, and equipment required to support photonics at wafer scale.
The meeting explores how alignment with semiconductor-grade manufacturing practices is essential to achieve the throughput, yield, cost efficiency, and energy efficiency required for large-scale photonics manufacturing.
Beyond core infrastructure technologies, the program highlights emerging applications enabled by advanced manufacturing, including optical sensors, integrated and on-chip devices, and novel photonic solutions spanning data communications, photonics-enabled AI, sensing, industrial systems, and health-related applications.
