Lu Wang
University of Ottawa, Canada
Lu Wang received her M.Sc. with distinction from Imperial College London (U.K., 2016) and her Ph.D. from the Max Planck Institute (Germany, 2020). Her research focuses on quantum optics, photonics, strong-field light–matter interactions, and quantum materials, combining first-principles theory with large-scale numerical simulations. Her notable honours include, but are not limited to: serving as a major collaborator at the MOE Academic Research Fund 2026 (Singapore); the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship “Seal of Excellence” (European Union); the Severo Ochoa Fellowship (Spain); the International Max Planck Research School fellowship (Germany); and the national scholarship from the China Scholarship Council (China). She is dedicated to enhancing the impact and public awareness of theoretical physics by bridging it with other disciplines, such as visual art. She advocates open science, with her team consistently sharing research outputs on open platforms such as arXiv and GitHub. She aims to broaden research impact beyond academia and foster public engagement with fundamental science.
