Though I've never met her, Prof. Seemantini Nadkarni is a role model and an inspiring figure in the field of biomedical optics for me. Her diverse caliber in the field of laser speckle rheology to atherosclerosis to OCT had triggered my interest and passion in the field of biomedical optics and inspired me to self-study and appreciate these fields, and transition to biomedical optics. Her papers are outstandingly written, a mark of a genius, especially the ones on laser speckle rheology and OCT.
