Dr. Luo has played a key role in the development of passive optical network (PON) standards that the world depends upon for ultrafast broadband. She has been a key contributor and editor of XG-PON, TWDM-PON, XGS-PON, and high speed PON standards. Yuanqiu has developed many inventions relevant to these systems. She has also given back to the technical community through her service to many conference and journals. Truly, she is a model researcher whose work has had a major impact.
