I am honoring Prof. Elizabeth Simmons, a distinguished professor of physics I had the privilege of meeting at the Career Development Workshop for Women in Physics at ICTP, Trieste, Italy. She is a strong advocate for the advancement of women in STEM and has raised awareness on gender inequity, implicit bias, and the need for diversity in STEM. Her enthusiasm and active involvement in those things have inspired me to co-organize an inclusive community of young physics learners in the Philippines.
