Prof. Luiz Davidovich was my PhD supervisor and greatly influenced my carrer as well as those of many other physicists working on Quantum Optics and Quantum Information in the Brazilian Physics community. He leaded national projects which were responsible for the start up of new laboratories, such as ours, at Fluminense Federal University. Thank you Luiz!!
