Prof. Lin Zhang is my first (and always my favorite) mentor that opens the door of optics for me. He encouraged me to pursue a Ph.D. degree of optics in the United States. From him I come to know some concepts in the forefront of optics/photonics: optical frequency comb, electromagnetically induced transparency, supercontinuum generation, dispersion engineering, optical force for confinement, etc. He is both a mentor and a friend to me. He changed the trajectory of my life!
