I am glad of this occasion to honor my mentor, the late Professor Franco Bassani, top scientist, Director of the Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa), President of the Italian Physical Society, and much more. He showed me the beauty of condensed matter physics, the importance of integrity in science, and the value of human relations behind any achievement.
