Honoring Anne Sakdinawat

Anne Sakdinawat received her PhD at UC Berkeley in 2008. Her thesis was titled “Contrast and Resolution Enhancement Techniques for soft X-ray Microscopy”. Combining dual functionalities, for example focusing with the addition of angular momentum, Anne invented many unique zone plate lenses. Her work continues at Stanford’s SLAC where she has formed the NanoX Group for hard x-ray optics, wavefront metrology, and nanofabrication, with diverse applications to the physical and life sciences.
